He was a top eight ranked Triple Jumper nationally as a younger man and was part of an elite jumps squad, training alongside international athletes Gary Honey and David Culbert plus a host of nationally ranked athletes. More recently Nick made his comeback to Masters’ competition and has won Gold Medals at Victorian Country Champs, Victorian Masters Champs, Australian Masters Champs, Australian Masters Games, Pan Pacific Masters Games and World Masters Games, has broken the Victorian Record for the Men’s 45-49 Triple Jump three times, and in 2012 was ranked number 15 in the world in his age group.
Nick has always had some involvement in the coaching side of jumps having designed his own training programs and through helping Schools, Little, Junior and Senior Athletes. During the 2012/13 season Nick’s squad jumped 32 PBs and won 25 Gold, 6 Silver and 4 Bronze medals at various championship events.

Cindy Holzer

Cindy Holzer is an Athletics Australia Level 2 coach and Sporting Schools accredited coach providing the IAAF Kids’ Athletics program to local schools. She currently trains the U/8 – U/15 age groups teaching the fundamentals of “Run, Jump, Throw”. Her sessions are fun, positive and inclusive and aim to give young athletes confidence and skill in their chosen events. During the past 4 seasons, she has successfully coached Geelong Centre relay teams to Regional and State Championships.
Cindy is also a current athlete and President of the Geelong Guild Athletic Club. She currently holds the Victorian Country 40+ record for the Javelin and holds the Geelong Centre records for the Javelin and High Jump. She is also a recent Australian Masters gold medallist (40 – 45yrs) in the Javelin, Long Jump, 400mH and pentathlon.

Hamish Nelson

Hamish Nelson is a National level decathlete competing with Geelong Guild for the past 3 years.
A keen interest in all events Hamish took over the Pole Vault coaching in 2014. Training is on a Wednesday night and all athletes are welcome to come and try.
Stewart Poulter

Stewart Poulter is an Athletics Australia Advanced Level 2 coach for Sprints, Hurdles, Relays and Jumps. He currently has a small squad of Little Aths sprinters (from various GLAC clubs) who compete at state level and has successfully coached Geelong Centre relay teams to Regional and State Championships. Stewart is a current (40+) athlete with Guild Athletic Club and in his younger days competed at National level in sprints.
Matt Wade

Matt has been coaching Sprint and Middle Distance athletes for nearly 10 years. He has also been one of the Geelong Guild Team Managers for the past 3 seasons, a shared duty with Paul Spikers.
He currently works as an Exercise Physiologist at The Cottage Medical Centre in Grovedale and Kardinia Osteopathy in Lara having previously completed a Bachelor of Exercise Science & Human Movement in 2012 and a Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Rehabilitation) in 2013. Matt has gone back to uni this year and is about half way through a Masters of High Performance Sport.
Along with his university studies he is Athletics Australia Accredited as a Level 2 - Sprints, Relays and Hurdles coach and has worked with not only National level athletes but also high performance athletes in other sports including, AFL and VFL footballers and junior elite level basketball and lacrosse players.
As well as being accomplished as both an coach and athlete Matt has played senior football in Geelong and played a high level of schoolboy cricket.

Robert (Bob) Holzer
Hammer & Javelin (13+)

Robert (Bob) Holzer has been involved in athletics, both as an athlete and coach, for over 50 years. As a younger athlete, Bob competed and was successful in a number of events ranging from the hammer, javelin, pole vault and decathlon. His athletic highlight was winning the Hammer throw at the Victorian U/19 Championships and placing second at the Australian U/19 Championships. More recently, Bob is the current Australian 65+ Masters hammer throw title holder and runner up in the javelin.
Bob is an accredited Level 1 coach specialising in all Throws coaching – but specifically hammer and javelin. Over the years, he has coached a number of athletes to State Titles and National level competitions with his most recent coaching highlight supporting his granddaughter to win a National bronze medal in the hammer.
