Handicap Day - Sat 25th Feb 2017
This Saturday is HANDICAP DAY!!
This event is a highlight of the year, where every athlete, no matter what standard, has a chance to win medals. Handicaps are based on results registered in competition prior to 4th February. Each athlete was able to enter up to 3 events, provided a result had been recorded in each of them. To enter this competition, athletes needed to have registered online before Sat 4/2. If you did not enter, you can still compete this weekend but you will be placed on a back marker. The events are 100m, un-laned 400m, Long Jump, Shot Put or Discus. Please see attached file if you have forgotten the events you entered.
There will also be a PARENT RELAY this Saturday. This is a great opportunity to re-live your youth and let the kids see Mum & Dad run!
1. Clubs are invited to enter teams of 2 men and 2 women (with each club deciding the running order) multiple teams are allowed 3. Multiple timed heats will be held it will be a timed final event rather than a heat to final
2. Each Parent who wishes to participate will be required to sign a waiver attached to be submitted with entries at the Competition Office prior to participation as LAVic and GLAC insurance does not cover this type of event
3. Gerry Consedine will be the official timer and judge and no appeals will be available 5. Medals will be presented to the 3 fastest teams.
Due to the Athletics Victoria State Championships (Senior athletics) a number of Guild families will not be at the track this Saturday, including Cindy and Freya. We encourage you to talk to each other and create the Guild "All Stars" relay team. We would love to hear of a Guild parents win!
Teams must be submitted to the Competition Office by 10.00 am on Saturday.
Best of luck and run fast!!
